Really brings back memories. Piece patches shoulders and elbows offer stylish look and improve rubbing resistance. I got would probably be a good fit for a man about 5' 10" and lbs. Hi there, I would like to suggest you a fantastic solution i,e. Look good in any setting.
The leather on this jacket seems really nice. Lots of grain and character. Shiny but not overly so. Fairly thick leather likely sufficient for those of us who ride motorcycles.
As other reviewers have pointed out, the construction of the jacket is spot on as well. The zippers are a good size and have a feeling that they are built to last. The stitching is clean with no lose threads and the jacket feels solid, as though it will not be falling apart anytime soon.
All in all a well constructed jacket that I would highly recommend. I'm 6' 1" and just below lbs and the large fits perfectly for my tastes with the liner removed and a t shirt underneath. I do not like baggy clothes and prefer that my stuff fit tight. I'm trying to drop another 10 lbs or so by winter, so I think it will fit great with the liner when the cold weather hits.
I did not care for the leather string on the sides so I removed it. I ride a sport bike, and the back of the jacket seemed to touch the belt area when I was riding, so no exposed skin for me. I treated the jacket with Chamberlains leather milk 3 which is a waterproofing leather conditioner. It took about 12 hours for the waterproofer to soak into the leather after I massaged it and scrubbed it in several times with hands.
This stuff works great and I would recommend you put some on your leather goods. All in all a really nice jacket at an extremely reasonable price point. I would not hesitate to purchase. I accidentally came a cross with this jacket. As I was reading all the positive comments about this jacket I decided to give it a try as the price is definitely not too high for what the jacket actually is. Jacket arrived carefully packed and super quickly thanks for Amazon.
Once I opened the packaging I was able to smell the lovely smell of real leather. The jacket smells absolutely amazing. Once I took all the protective wrapping off I throwed the jacket on me first being afraid that it's too big. I gotta say that the size chart pretty much nails it - I am cm tall, 80kg with 95cm chest and with the liner inside it's more than okay.
I think I will get a size S as well for me to wear it only with t-shirt as the M-size I got requires pretty much a thicker shirt undernearth the jacket. Anyways that's not a problem as I live up in the north of the globe so it's very often cold up here - even in summer. Construction of the jacket is good and the zippers are very well made. I hope they are as durable as they look.
I also love the side leather "strings" that are making possible to adjust the waist fit perfect for your body. Not a fan of that, neither of the little bit too "plasticy" sounding metals of it. I also managed to rip off, even though I tried to be gentle, the little "part" from inside the other sleeve which attaches the removable inside liner to the actual jacket.
I will sew it back to the jacket so that's not a big problem. Overall this jacket is amazing value for the money. Leather is a durable and stylish material, useful for clothing, shoes, and furniture. Like many other materials, though, leather can be susceptible to wrinkling if used intensively or not stored properly. Getting wrinkles out of leather can be easy, however, if you know how to properly handle the material.
Relaxing the wrinkles with low heat and small amounts of steam can help you keep your leather looking crisp without damaging the material. Some leathers can be quite delicate, and the way a garment is sewn can make it surprisingly easy to pull even a sturdy leather out of shape.
Pulling for 10 seconds will damage some leather, and that's not something you want to find out through trial and error! You should pull for seconds to get the wrinkles out safely. Read on for another quiz question. If you hold for too long, you could permanently stretch the leather!
When in doubt, pulling for shorter amounts of time is better. Water damages leather, so you need the temperature to be high enough to prevent condensation from forming. A low setting will not generate enough heat. The heat on this setting is high enough to prevent condensation from forming on the garment but low enough to prevent the leather from drying out. That balance makes it the perfect choice. This setting is high enough to prevent the moisture from the steam from damaging the leather, but it will be too hot for some items.
Leather contains natural oils that give it its soft and supple feel. Heat will cause leather to dry out and crack, a problem that is much harder to deal with than wrinkles. The more steam you have in a space, the more humid it becomes. That hot, moist air causes condensation when it touches a cooler surface, which is why your mirror fogs up. If your bathroom gets humid enough, condensation will form on the leather, which can damage the material.
Click on another answer to find the right one You need the bathroom to be warm and steamy to get the wrinkles out, and you need to keep water off the leather.
On average, the temperature you use to shower will produce enough steam that you can hang the garment in a safe location. It will be hot enough to get the wrinkles out but not so humid that condensation forms on the leather. You need enough steam to get the wrinkles out.
This temperature will not produce enough steam to be effective unless you hold the garment right next to the stream. But, if you hold it that close to the shower, you risk water damage! Emptying the well will help, but there are other precautions that are even more helpful. Iron quickly and gently, on the side of going too fast. But there are other, even more effective, ways to prevent heat damage. Putting a buffer between the iron and leather is a great idea, and heavy brown paper is a good choice because it does not scorch easily.
A grocery sack will work well, but make sure there is no print on it because the ink can transfer. But even with a buffer, heat damage is a concern. Take a look at the other options.
Irons produce a lot of heat and can easily damage the leather. Using the lowest possible setting will help minimize that risk, but it will not eliminate it completely. Consider the other ways you can protect your garment. Ironing is not an ideal way to remove wrinkles because there is a high risk of causing heat damage.
None of the methods above is sufficient on its own, and even combining two or three of the methods may not be enough. You should take all of the precautions described above if ironing is your only option. Put your leather item that needs de-wrinkling on a hanger. Make sure to use a hanger appropriate for the garment. For items too large to hang, the pulling technique may not work. Try to avoid thin metal hangers as these may bend when put under stress.
Hang the garment somewhere sturdy. When it says to measure from center of neck am i measuring to wrist or fingertip?. Looking for a large leather riding jacket that will fit my arms. Thanks for your question. To measure for sleeve length, a common method is to measure your arm at the center point where your neck meets your shoulders. Hold your arm slightly akimbo, as though you had your thumb hooked into your pant pocket, and guide the tape down along your arm to your elbow and on toward your wrist.
Stop at the point where your forearm meets the palm of your hand, basically at your wrist bone. Give that a shot and see if the measurement seems more accurate and aligns with our size chart measurements.
